Standing Start
Monday, Wednesday and Friday i am attending Standing Start, thanks to everyone involved. The first day was really good, they look at spinal cord RECOVERY the same way as a new born baby learning to roll, kneel, lift them selves up, crawl and walk, getting you thinking about how your body used to move. On Tuesday and Saturday i have physio at home still with Stephen Barwise, i have had Stephen since i came home from hospital, with his help i have improved, and reached goals that i have set.. i can now do physio 5 times a week, with Standing Start i will start a new program, and continuing with Stephen as i am doing, the pace has surpassed what i thought possible, i have my leg braces that i am standing with now
(using crutches) soon i will use parallel bars - they will be more stable and allow me then to combine that with a tread mill to “simulate” walking to start with - and eventually
www.alexwillwalkagain.com with the alternate days at Standing Start with the new system, my FES bike and tracker bike, i have been given that push.. the helping hand… the opportunity to reach my goal.
As i have only just stepped up the pace (i am only human :)) i wake up aching all over, but with the two programs and my bikes i am working different areas of my body, and once i start moving i loosen up, when i’m finished the endorphins make me feel good, plus knowing that through hard work, determination, and the help and support of the people around me.. i will improve and reach my goal.
