Not good

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

I’ve changed the way that i transfer again making things a lot more independent - its the only way forward.. i’m becoming very independant with the transfers but lack confidence, this was prior to physio where nothing went right in standing nothing would kick in and i just couldn’t stand.. this i’ve put down to a lot of unnecessary stress over the past few days, i then went on the crazy horse which ended the session well.. trying to stay positive is so hard…… trying each day to deal with everything and not even able to sit up properly unaided.. its soul destroying

monday tuesday

Monday, July 27th, 2009

i have just done 8.7 miles with my leg bike then 6.3 miles using the arm bike, then a little trip down to poddington house, things are really moving - i just need the boma to be able to do so much more… tomorrow i will be standing with the parallel bars - lets see if theres any more improvements… im looking into money raising ideas for this boma wheelchair, im coming up to £5000 so we’re getting there (slowly slowly..) thank you Melissa Elston (Tina’s sister, every penny gets me closer to my independence)

the world on my shoulders

Saturday, July 25th, 2009

Today i have physio - im going to crack through self transfers… i’ve had enough now, and for a change i’m full of energy. on Thursday i had more work done on my back (tattoo - see pictures) this is relevant to my recovery because of sensation, up on my shoulders i have the two turtles and on my neck the Miami Project symbol - having these done were as normal (i had other work done prior to my injury..) the world map… i didn’t feel him start! it just felt like viberations through my back (no pain) but the crazy thing is the vasaline afterwards i felt more (the sensation was as normal.. i also had used vasaline prior to the injury) and now the “heeling process” is as normal

EVERY INJURY IS DIFFERENT - NO-ONE KNOWS WHAT WILL COME

The hardest thing i’ve done in my life - is what i’m doing right now!

“Be individual”

The hospital…

Friday, July 24th, 2009

today i had the pre-op assessment.. they just go through all the things that “could go wrong” im really really not looking forward to this (like a scared little kitten, i’ll put a brave face on though)… tomorrow i will do the FES arm bike (at least twice (12.6 miles)) this is to make me STRONG for Saturday morning with Steve and my “self transfers” bring on the independence
