i’m still zapping my legs in the hope i’ll be running like the rats soon - i have not got my bike logged onto the internet due to the “big move” so i’m still maintaining multiple sessions on average 2.8miles each time but doing 2-3 sessions a day.. once in the new place i’ll have it connected back up then it can update and download new data.. on saturday i’ll be having an update session with Stephen Barwise.. but still not quite in the new place yet..

Please excuse the lack of updates, my lap top is still broken.. and i’m using my old one which takes 3 day’s to start up! the other one needs a new mother board and graphics card due to overheating… potentially very expensive..

i’m still continuing with my FES bike (legs for now.. back with the as of tomorrow) and my transfers are steadily becoming more independant, i have dropped back on “actual” physio sessions until i’m in the new build.. as i’ve progressed further than anything i can’t do myself in the space i have, on Saturday i have a session to keep things “in line” but should be in there very soon

2.9 and 5.8miles, the leg sessions are building up once again, i’ve cut back on the arm sessions for a few days to allow my back to heal.. and i’m slacking with the updates because my laptops broken - i have my old one for now

2.8.. 2.8… 2.8

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

On my leg bike i’m doing multiple sessions for now.. because it goes into passive (no electric impulses) after 2.8miles..(to get maximum effect i do repeat sessions) i’ve gone back up 5mg’s on the baclofen to, this is due to too many “side affects” (for now) i will try again soon when things are more stable… (the changes in temperature affect things to) plus i’ve had another tattoo session on my back… so lets see if my theroy is correct and find out weather it brings any futher sensation/motor function back… if so i will then get my right fore arm done to see if ican get anymore from my fingers!

in my Saturday physio session i stood with my bars… now, i don’t know if this is down to the drop in baclofen (5mg, i’ve come down from 120mg.. now i’m on 20mg), but as my arms/shoulders got tired i could feel my lower back, gluets (bum), quads and my ham string muscles heating up and as before can “push” through on my legs preventing them buckling. I have also noticed a lot more muscle control all down my back, in my previous session these muscles “caught” me when i fell forward in my standing chair, the other reason for this i thought.. might down to the recent tattoo i’ve had done (see pic)! i’m booked in for another session on Saturday so we’ll see if anymore happens..

They say… that recovery “mellows out” after about 18 month’s/2 years, i’m now coming up to 3 (very long) years.. and i’m still recovering with new things all the time - slow but steady

So i don’t care what “they” say

in preparation for physio in my new house using the treadmill - i have reduced my baclofen once again, now i’m on 5mg at 8am, 5mg at 3pm and 10mg at 10pm, in a couple of weeks (once my body has adjusted) i will take the 10pm down to 5mg’s, i need to do this to allow anything else to awaken.. and to liven up the spinal reflex’s to help initiate walking.

spinal reflex - The inborn or intrinsic somatic (skeletal muscle response) reflexes  (relatively rapid and predictable motor responses to stimuli) mediated by the spinal cord; although the central pathway(s) involve only spinal cord segment control, some spinal reflexes require the participation of higher brain centers for completion and most spinal reflexes also report information about the reflex having occurred to higher centers in the brain.

sleep

Sunday night i had no sleep.. just laying awake restless.. this lead on to bad transfers and very little energy all round, i’ve still maintained my sessions on my bike (although only single sessions for the time being..) the house is so so close now.. plus the boma

tonight i have started studing digital photography (this can be anything from a job, hobby to a full on career), this i can do along side physio, it should help long term keeping my mind active.
