So many before me give up…. Gave up.. Give in…. Something that some days I want to do, my body is broken but my mind is not.. Today I will stand! One day I will walk!

It’s not that walking is the be all and end all… It’s more for my independance, for my life to mean something more than just keeping the tv company while I watch winnies fur grow back! I have achieved a lot so far… I’ll press on those medical boundaries a little more yet

Now the correct catherdar in – thank god for the brilliant district nurse’s here in staplehurst, always coming to my rescue.. I had to go out after for some much needed fresh air. Rest tomorrow from all this trauma – my poor groin! Then need to get back to it Friday getting back in training!

A company working with and developing ( my view as a paralysed person… Plus someone who loves gadgets!) some of the most exciting technology out there – the future is walking! And for once in five years I can actually say I’m off for a walk – alexISgoingtowalkagain

Unfortuneatly, recently I’ve just had a lot of trauma in and around my groin… Not to mention excessive bleeding and the wrong catherdar being fitted! I’m waiting just now for the nurse to swap it back to the correct one…. Again more pain! They can numb the “site” where it goes in but not all the way in the stomach.. Most people with my level of injury can’t feel there… I have 77% Sensation throughout my body….

I have Steve back Saturday to start kicking me back into action, so soon I’ll be back on form

I am lucky enough to say that I’m going for an assessment in the bionic skeleton so – I really hope I can meet everything that is needed physically – I know I’m strong enough mentally

Bring on the future…. bring on the pain! What the future holds no one knows, Winnie has shed her fur, it’s re grown as she does, every day stronger… Everyday I get closer to my independance I’ll fight each day to achieve it.

I won’t give up, i went through all that I have and my pulse still beats.. As my lungs draw each breath I will continue this fight through paralysis… Taking the bad along with the good
