My Story...
Hi I’m Alex and I’m a marine engineer, while working out in the Caribbean in 2006 during some leisure time I went swimming and my whole life changed in an instant... I hit my head on a sand bank and broke my neck. The vertebrae at c5 fractured and c6 broke into three parts one of which damaged my spinal cord, leaving me paralysed from the chest down. More
12 years… of pain

I thought the pain i have lived with these past years (over a decade!), was just the “tip of the ice berg”, afraid to touch or miss my drug schedule… if I did I had bad reactions… more pain and increased spasms, now I dropped gabapentin completely and only 5mg’s of baclofen (soon to be none), three days of grief then back to the level I was before I became “my own dr” – please note : I am not a doctor!

Tortured by drugs and their side effects for 12 years! Strong horrible addictive drugs that I have now proven I did not! I do not need!, I need something…. I have cbd oil that I bought as a reserve… but my view is I need to live my life, I can’t if I’m drugged up, so I’ve done this cold turkey, I’ve lived 12 years of pain…. my thoughts are maybe… without all these drugs in my system (I came home only able to move my head), these drugs block signals from brain to body…. without these, something more may come back..

I need a point to my life, a reason to keep going- I can’t have this as the high point to my life, I am more than this…

I am me

What are the ingredients in NEURONTIN?

Active ingredient: gabapentin

Riding through the storm….

I’m only having 5mg’s baclofen now, by the end of they year I’ll be on zero baclofen! Then it’s amitriptyline and clonazipam, after this it’s only Oxybutynin , I may stay with the last one…. but I’ll see how I feel at the time

Grab life by the balls!

Everyday… all day..

I fight the internal torment and torture that is paralysis!

Something to live for… something more than this

Mind body and spirit.. I have the mind trapped within the body, each day holding onto the spirit as it slips slides away

A life! My life to find, before the flame dies…….

Just do it!

Baclofen down to 5mg’s!

So many words….

But nothing to say today

Productive life

I can deal with a lot of things…. I try to be pro active and keep pressing on forward, throughout all the sand storms of negativity my mind and my life will bring to me, dropping some extremely bad medication, useless and dangerous in my opinion! Gabapentin should be illegal, my life over these passed years has circled around different types of crazy, being as I am is difficult enough without being held down and pushed back by my own (useless) pain medication, dulling my mind and bringing me down in a world that can do that all alone… I try each day to maintain positivity and to reconfigure the negative, but sitting still with nothing happening each day going on, nothing changing, I find my life looking backwards, a place I don’t want to be… but the light fades and shadows start to chase.. I find my pro active life standing still
